Alice Evans
"My focus is on pension schemes which involves many different calculations and valuations, as well as checking the work of more senior colleagues. That said, I’m by no means limited to this area. In fact, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much cross - practice experience is encouraged. And because I work across 16 different client teams, I get a broad range of exposure to working styles and the needs of a wide variety clients. Initially, grasping the actual concept of problems I’d been posed was extremely challenging. But that made finding solutions all the more satisfying and was an excellent test of my intellectual rigour - so it’s well worth the brain ache it takes to get there."

"I’ve been challenged throughout my whole time with Watson Wyatt. My work in the benefits practice is very varied and, at the moment, I work across six client teams of varying sizes which means I get used to different team dynamics and learn from a range of different people. My average day may include valuing pension schemes and making sure they’re properly run, providing accounting figures for international clients, advising companies on mergers and acquisitions, or working with other offices and practices on a variety of projects. Recently, I have started to take more of an overseeing role and am able to take a wider view of the business and client issues. I find myself thinking more - formulating solutions to problems - and applying myself in different ways, as I’m now responsible for delivering specific elements of our advice to the client, rather than just doing actuarial calculations."
N.B. Nichelle has now taken advantage of the international opportunities available within the firm and is based in our Atlanta office.
