Training

In addition to the central training that Investment joiners receive, the Investment practice provides its own training to give you the practice specific knowledge and skills you require.

Our on-the-job training and development provides the ideal introduction to this rapidly growing field, plus the chance to deal with an international portfolio of highly prestigious clients. You’ll be given the opportunity to take early responsibility and the continuing growth of the investment market means the opportunities for further career progression couldn’t be better.

Whether you pursue an actuarial or non-actuarial career, we’ll make a significant contribution to your training, both in terms of time and money.

If you join us in an actuarial role, you will be supported to study for the Institute of Actuaries qualification and you will receive both time off and financial assistance to help you pass the 15 professional examinations you'll need to take.

In terms of time off, you will receive a substantial bank of study days.  To give you a sense of the scale of this benefit, if you join us with no exemptions, the total number of study days available to you over your qualification period will equate to a whole working year.

Financially, we'll make a significant contribution towards your tuition materials, examination costs and travelling expenses for attending tutorials. We'll also pay salary increments for each examination level passed. The generosity of our study support is one of the reasons why our qualification rate is so much better than the national average.

If you choose to pursue a non-actuarial career path, You will be encouraged to sit for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Once again, financial provision is made for tuition materials, examination costs and travelling expenses for attending examinations. We’ll also pay salary increments for each of the three examination levels passed plus a discretionary qualification bonus. Similarly, there is a flexible study bank, which provides you with an initial ‘credit’ upon joining and additional ‘credits’ each time you begin a new course of study.
